Projects & Initiatives
Independent ventures founded or edited by Shariq Refai, MD, MBA, across psychiatry, digital mental health, publishing, and editorial education. Each operates separately from shariqrefai.com and isn't run by this educational platform.
One is the umbrella that ties the rest together (the Shrink Network). One is a clinical practice (shrinkMD). Two are product or educational ventures (shrinQ and Unstuck). One is a publishing imprint (shrinkMD Publishing). Four are editorial publications where Dr. Refai serves as medical reviewer (AnxietyResource.org, DepressionResource.org, AnxietyResearch.org, and PsychiatryRx.org). Each is described below along with how it relates to this site.

Shrink Network
The umbrella of independent editorial mental health publications.
The Shrink Network is the front door for the group of independent editorial publications Dr. Refai founded and medically reviews. ShrinkNetwork.com itself is a small static site whose only job is to introduce Dr. Refai, explain the network's editorial and safety standards, and route visitors to the right property in the network.
The network sells nothing, runs no ads, and earns no commission on outbound links. Every property in the network is editorially independent, plain-language, US-focused, and evidence-based. Each property carries the same crisis routing (988 and 911) and the same medical disclaimer language.
The network is organized into three groups:
- Learn (educational reference): Shrinkopedia, Shrinktionary, AnxietyResource, DepressionResource, AnxietyResearch, PsychiatryRx
- Practice and tools: shrinQ, Unstuck (beunstuck.app), shrinkMD
- More: Dr. Refai's books and personal site (shariqrefai.com)
Dr. Refai is the founder of the Shrink Network and the medical editor for each publication within it. shariqrefai.com is part of the network as the author and editorial platform.
shrinkMD
A multistate telepsychiatry company.
shrinkMD is the independent telepsychiatry company Dr. Refai founded in 2025. The company was built around continuity of clinician, real follow-up, and multistate licensure so people in smaller markets can access psychiatric care.
Relationship to shariqrefai.com: shrinkMD is a separate clinical entity from shariqrefai.com, which is an educational author and media platform. Clinical care inquiries should be directed to shrinkmd.com. Dr. Refai is the founder of, and holds a material ownership interest in, shrinkMD.
Unstuck App
A mental wellness app for daily use.
Unstuck is a general mental wellness app. It's a mobile app for reflection, journaling, reminders, daily affirmations, and emotional awareness practices. The point isn't to replace therapy or medication. The point is to give people a small, repeatable daily input alongside whatever else they're doing.
What's inside: structured journaling prompts written by a psychiatrist, daily reminders that don't feel like productivity nudges, affirmations that aren't generic quotes, and reflection tools that help you notice patterns in your own week.
Legal Disclaimer: Unstuck is a general mental wellness app and is not a medical device, therapy, psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, crisis service, or substitute for professional care.
shrinQ
A structured, self-guided digital mental wellness program for adults who feel mentally stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or burned out.
shrinQ (shrinq.com) is an eleven-module program built around four phases: understanding the mind, breaking the loops, building durable habits, and burnout and recovery. It's delivered as on-demand lessons, worksheets, and short daily practices, designed to be worked through at the reader's own pace and revisited as needed.
The site also includes a free library of small self-assessment and reflection tools that anyone can use without signing up, and a "For teams" track with team licensing and a wellness-stipend option for organizations.
Legal Disclaimer: shrinQ is an educational system, not therapy, diagnosis, or treatment, and isn't a substitute for care from a licensed clinician. It isn't a crisis service. People in crisis should call or text 988 in the US.
Relationship to shariqrefai.com: shrinQ is the educational and coaching arm of Dr. Refai's work and is operated separately from shariqrefai.com and from his clinical practice shrinkMD.
shrinkMD Publishing
An imprint dedicated to clinically grounded mental health writing.
shrinkMD Publishing is the imprint behind Dr. Refai's books. The mission is to release educational frameworks and literary works that take psychological concepts seriously, written by clinicians, for the general public. Not pop psychology. Not wellness fluff. Real ideas, written in plain language, with the disclaimers and the science the topic actually deserves.
The first three releases are Your Mind Is Full of Sh*t, the companion workbook, and The Havoc in Your Head. Future releases will continue the same focus on practical mental health literacy.
Relationship to shariqrefai.com: shrinkMD Publishing is an independent imprint. Dr. Refai is the author of the first three releases.

PsychiatryRx.org
An independent, ad-free reference site publishing plain-language, psychiatrist-reviewed guides to psychiatric and sleep medications.
PsychiatryRx.org is a reference site for readers trying to understand a medication they've been prescribed or are considering. Content is organized into per-drug guides (what the drug treats, how it works, what to expect week by week, side effects, interactions, and how to come off it safely), side-by-side comparisons, drug-class overviews, practical guides for starting and tapering, and a glossary of pharmacology and psychiatry terms.
Every page carries an "Authored and editorially reviewed by" credit line with a published date and a last-reviewed date, and every claim is sourced from FDA labeling, MedlinePlus, and clinical guidelines. The site isn't a clinic, pharmacy, or telehealth service. It sells nothing, runs no ads, and has no affiliate links.
Relationship to shariqrefai.com: PsychiatryRx.org is an independent editorial publication operated separately from shariqrefai.com. Dr. Refai serves as the medical editor and clinical reviewer.
How These Connect
shrinkMD provides clinical care. shrinQ delivers a structured, self-guided program for working through overthinking, anxiety, and burnout outside the clinical room. Unstuck supports daily mental wellness practice through a mobile app. shrinkMD Publishing puts the underlying frameworks in book form. AnxietyResource.org and DepressionResource.org build condition-specific, plain-language reference libraries that general readers can use to learn what their experience is and what kind of help exists. AnxietyResearch.org translates the underlying research into the same plain-language format. PsychiatryRx.org covers the medication side, with psychiatrist-reviewed guides to specific psychiatric and sleep medications, sourced from FDA labeling and clinical guidelines.
Together, they cover the same arc from different angles, from clinical care to daily practice, from long-form education to in-the-moment reading.
